Why do I need supporting stands?

You do not need supporting stands for safety reasons. You need them if you want to adjust the brakes, you need a free wheel, and if you are stuck for parts and you need the hoist for another vehicle, you just set your stands under each wheel and move the hoists away to another vehicle.
